“AAVE and its dialects are not simply ways of speaking, they are living testimonies to the Black experience,” says Michael Derwin W, founder of Ebonictees. “Our mission is to amplify the voices, stories, and creativity embedded within these languages, while dispelling the harmful stereotypes that have long held them back.”
Taking a page from HipHop’s long lasting journey, Ebonictees hopes to forge the language even further into the World’s vernacular usage. All along firmly in belief that what they are bringing forth is not racial/cultural appropriation, but instead racial/cultural appreciation.
