The new feature launched is available at the clinic’s Davenport location and will soon be available at Amana Care’s new location in Muscatine. Both locations offer a fast walk-in service for patients requiring urgent medical attention, with no need to book an appointment in advance.
According to the Urgent Care Association, in recent years, urgent care centers have handled almost 20% of all primary care medical visits (nearly 90 million per year), and the number of urgent care patients continues to grow. Benefits of urgent care clinics include flexible evening and weekend hours that are not covered by hospitals, cheaper and faster service compared to an ER and access to medical professionals without an appointment.
At the Amana Care clinics, patients can be examined and treated for various conditions and symptoms, ranging from common infections and minor wounds to fractured bones and muscle injuries. Although patients are welcome to walk in without prior arrangements, visitors to the Davenport clinic can use the reservation feature to save their spot in line. When reserving, the online system will provide the patient with an estimated treatment time, keep them informed of their position, and hold their spot until they arrive at the clinic.
